The Thriving Kids Program: National Best Practice in Focus

This webinar will strengthen your understanding of the Thriving Kids Advisory Group report’s key findings and explore how its recommendations are consistent with the National Best Practice Framework for ECI. The panel will specifically discuss practice alignment and shared priorities, with participants having the opportunity to engage directly with panel members during a dedicated Questions and Answers session

Join Professor Frank Oberklaid (Co-chair of the Thriving Kids Expert Advisory Group), Dr Anoo Bhopti (Member of the Thriving Kids Expert Advisory Group & PRECI Director) and PRECI Framework Project Team Members.

Professor Frank Oberklaid, AM, MD, FRACP, DCH, was the Foundation Director of the Centre for Community Child Health at The Royal Children's Hospital – Melbourne for over 25 years. He is currently Co-Group Leader, Policy and Equity, at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute and Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Melbourne.

Professor Oberklaid was co-chair of the Thriving Kids Advisory Group which conceptualised  a new national model to identify mild to moderate developmental concerns earlier and provide supports for children and their families in community settings where they live, learn and play rather than rely on the NDIS. 

Professor Oberklaid is especially interested in prevention, early detection and early intervention, child development and mental health, and the use of research findings to inform public policy and service delivery. His clinical and research training is in child development and behaviour, and his work as a specialist paediatrician has been with children who have developmental and behavioural problems.
