In an unusual celebration of his divorce, a man from Assam’s Nalbari district bathed in 40 litres of milk while declaring his newfound freedom, a video of which has now gone viral on social media. Manik Ali, a resident of Baraliyapar village under Mukalmua police station, was seen pouring bucket after bucket of milk over himself in a now widely shared clip. Wearing a white vest and blue jeans, he exclaimed, “I am free from today!” as the milk drenched him. According to The Indian Express, Ali’s divorce followed a tumultuous marriage where his wife allegedly eloped with her lover twice. Reports from Northeast Live suggest he initially attempted reconciliation for the sake of their daughter, but his wife reportedly continued her extramarital affair and repeatedly abandoned the family.
