Julius Malema, leader of South Africa's Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), is back in East London court for sentencing on firearm charges related to an incident in 2018. During the EFF’s fifth birthday celebration at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium, Malema was found to have fired an assault rifle, which was handed to him by his former bodyguard, Adriaan Snyman. While the court deliberates, EFF supporters have rallied in large numbers in support of their leader.
