Across the Salt Lakes
Day 22.
We leave the mountains behind and head south toward the salt lakes, on our way to Boujdour.
The terrain changes again.
White stretches replace earth tones.
The horizon becomes harder to read.
Driving across the salt flats feels different. Sound travels differently. The surface reflects light in a way that erases depth. It’s beautiful — and disorienting at the same time.
The Budapest–Bamako Rally isn’t about dramatic obstacles every day. Sometimes it’s about navigating vast emptiness with precision and patience.
There are no landmarks here.
Only direction.
Boujdour lies ahead.
The desert expands.
This is Day 22.
White silence.
