YORK is a project formed by German brothers Torsten and Jörg Stenzel in the late 90s. During the years they released tracks such as “The Awakening”, “Reachers Of Civilisation”, “The Fields Of Love”, “Farewell To The Moon” and of course, “On The Beach”.

“On The Beach” is a cover of the 1986 pop song “On The Beach” from British singer-songwriter Chris Rea. The YORK brothers released their version back in 1999 and a year later, in the Summer of 2000, the CRW Remix of “On The Beach” made it to the #4 position of the UK Singles Chart and the track charted in several other countries as well.

In my previous interview with Torsten, we already spoke about the YORK debut track “The Awakening”, but of course I also had to ask him about the story behind “On The Beach”.
