If you like a good read, you might be interested in my own literary efforts! “LIFE’S A MESS” - For fans of longer reads, my first novel, “LIFE’S A MESS… AND THEN YOU DIE: HOARDING, WRITING AND LOST FAMILY” is a 109,000-word epic of idealism, squalor and family issues. Life in a tatty caravan isn’t much fun for Tanya. Having given up her previous life on the wishes of her dying mum, she now lives at the Glad Heart Farm caravan park - with no job, money, or family. They may not be related, but two people are always there for her - Rob, the artist, and Tanya‘s best friend and protector, Hilary. But Tanya’s life is about to be transformed when she rediscovers the father that she thought was dead. And he’s living in squalor only a short train ride away.

“THE WAGGON” - My second full-length novel also explores some themes of idealism, as well as exploring the complex relationship between a mum and her teenage daughter. On the death of the girl’s dad, a mother and daughter discover that they must undertake a mission in a painted caravan. But, wow, so many events along the way change their relationship for good. The book is beautifully written and is a ‘can’t put down’ psychological delving into the mother/daughter dynamic.

My book, ‘Melissa and the Mobility Scooter’ is a combination of short stories, a few poems, and a few finish-it-yourself stories, which allow the reader/listener to give their own input to a story’s start.

*****SHORTER READS/LISTENS*****

Shorter reads might be more your thing. If so, I have a number of short novels/long stories that might appeal. My first four novelettes were compiled into an anthology called “CONFLICT MANAGEMENT” (www.wordsarelife.co.uk/conflictmanagement). The four titles, “CHANGES”, “DIVINE INTERVENTION”, “NO MATTER WHAT”, and “WALKING WITH EVE”, are also available as audiobooks/ebooks.

“CHANGES” - Illness, motherly love and moving on. A heart-warming and powerful tale of an autistic young man, his seriously ill mum, and the mum’s desire to discover her lost past.

“DIVINE INTERVENTION” - God, twins and what will triumph - good or evil? When God’s the omniscient and omnipotent narrator, and when the antagonist is a bad-girl YouTuber called Jo-Ke, it’s a dilemma and a half!

“NO MATTER WHAT” - Ghostwriting, secrets and a cocky male supermodel. Hmmm, is ANYBODY who they seem in this story of obsession, eventual liberation and how good can (sometimes) prevail? I love this book within a book.

“WALKING WITH EVE” – This novelette is NOT what you’d expect from the revenge of two wronged women. It’s strong, powerful, theatrical, and hits their enemy in just the right place! More recently, other novelettes have been made available as audiobooks/ebooks.

These are “CRASH TEST DUMMY”, ‘BIGHEART’ and ‘COULD THIS BE AN OFFICE ROMANCE?” “BIGHEART” - A love story. Risk. Fascination. Upset. Big girl. Big jumper. Have you ever secretly been in love with that tall, handsome, red-headed, red-bearded bloke from the office? Why not tell him via a secret note slipped into his pocket and see how things turn out?

“COULD THIS BE AN OFFICE ROMANCE? A Psychically Predicted Love Story” - Two women are pushed together at work. Erin has an instant connection with Natalia, but their path to psychically predicted true love is NOT clear of obstructions and conflict. A gorgeous little book that can be read in one evening and is perfect for bedtime.

“CRASH TEST DUMMY” - Don Filey has his issues, but nobody can say he doesn’t try. He doesn’t do brilliantly for his restaurant or his own body, but he’s not so bad at caring for the women in his life: three street girls. And, when your body’s being ripped apart by alcohol, there’s only so much anyone can do.
