The daily soap features Kanika Mann and Vishal Aditya Singh as the lead couple. Sheezan Khan returned to the fiction genre with Chand Jalne Laga after almost a year-long gap. Best remembered as Ali Baba in Ali Baba: Dastaan-e-Kabul, he had pinned great hopes on the comeback project. However, in less than a month – he started shooting for the show on December 1-- he has quit the daily soap. The actor, who was roped in as the parallel lead in the show, says, “I was promised the role of the parallel lead, but it was later reduced to just another character. I had no choice but to quit the show. I am now looking for a role that will do justice to my talent. As an actor, the factors governing my choices include substantial screen time and a performance-oriented role.” Ahead of joining the show, in a chat with us last month, while sharing his initial apprehensions about entering midway, Sheezan said, “Initially, I had reservations about accepting the offer to join the show midway, especially as the parallel lead. However, my fears vanished when I heard the narration and the upcoming storyline.” He added, “One should know his reality and I understand mine. At a time when people hesitated to offer me work, someone dared to do so. Securing the top position is within my control, but for that, I need to be part of the race first. Aap mujhe dasve number par rakho, pehle number par aana mujhe aata hai. For now, I am glad to be back. I am fine with starting again from zero because, at least, I have the guts to restart. Besides, I have not changed my approach to work. I still consider myself a newcomer, and I will see myself as one until the end because life teaches you something new every day.”
Before his acting comeback, Sheezan also underwent a makeover of sorts by bidding adieu to his long, lustrous locks after almost two years.
