ingredients & quantity
Beef mince - 1/2 kg
Onions (chopped) - 2 Nos
Tomatoes (chopped) - 2 Nos
Coriander leaves (Chopped) - 3 Tbsp
Coconut oil - 3 tbsp
Salt - 11/2
Sugar - 1 tsp
Goan toddy Vinegar - 3 tbsp
For Red masala
Dried Kashmiri Chilies - 5 nos
Ginger - 1/2 inch
Garlic - 7 cloves
Cloves - 5 Nos
Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
Black peppercorns - 10 nos
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Water - as needed
Method
1. Wash and drain the beef mince, add 1 tsp salt mix, and set aside
2. Add all the ingredients mentioned for masala in a mixer jar along with water and grind into a fine paste.
3. Heat oil in a pan or vessel, add chopped onions, and saute for a few minutes till light brown.
4. Add the chopped tomatoes and saute till mushy
6. Add the mince and cook for 15-20 mins by covering the lid.
7. Now add the ground red masala along with residual water and cook for a few minutes until the raw flavor from masala goes away.
8. Season it with sugar, salt, and goan toddy vinegar.
9. Finally, finish it off with chopped coriander leaves.
10. Serve hot with rice or chapati
Note:
1. You can also replace beef with mutton or chicken mince.
2. You can add some Potaoes pieces while cooking the beef mine if you prefer.
