AKT Solar's solar powered boat piloted by Simon Milward
This shows the the first ever crossing of the English Channel by a boat powered directly and only by the sun.
The boat is called "AKT Solar". It converts the sun's energy into electricity via the solar panels and feeds this electricity directly into the electric motors at the back of the boat.
The AKT Solar made the crossing on 23 June 2014 in just 6 hours and 59 minutes.
It has been recognised as. Guinness World Record.
