This film features one of my favorite tram cars, the Tatra T5C5, which has been custom manufactured for Budapest, Hungary. Some of them have been modernized in the early 2000s and got renamed to T5C5K. You can distinguish them by the cheeping sound of the IGBT transistor motor control during acceleration and deceleration.
This first part of this two-part film mostly features the southern segment of line 61, which runs between Móricz Zsigmond Körtér and Széll Kálmán Tér (previously Moszkva Tér). I shot this film during a work day, and line 61 has pretty frequent service with a tram running every 3–4 minutes. Some scenes also show line 59 at Királyhágó Tér, which runs up the hill toward Farkasrét, Márton Áron Tér.
Enjoy!
