Footage has been captured of the alleged offender of a Bondi Junction stabbing being confronted by a brave shopper on an escalator.
The footage shows a man in a white shirt attempting to fend off the attacker with a bollard.
Four people are reportedly dead after the stabbing incident unfolded in the shopping precinct on Saturday afternoon.
Police have closed the off the area, and declared the situation is under control.
Hundreds of people were caught up in the incident with some locked in the shopping centre for hours.
