ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Meet Utpal Kalal, a doctor-turned-filmmaker who discovered his true passion for filmmaking while studying medicine in Russia. To strike a balance between the two fields, Utpal took the leap and established his film production company, UK Pictures Entertainment. His latest documentary, The 14th February and Beyond, has received nominations for ten international film festivals and two prestigious awards.

For those aspiring to pursue a career in medicine, Utpal advises them to remain entirely focused on their studies, as medicine is an extremely competitive field. On the other hand, for those interested in filmmaking, he suggests grasping the grammar and technicalities of the craft, which would assist them in perfecting their filmmaking skills. When not working, Utpal enjoys reading and writing, sharing stories with others, and dedicating his free time to filmmaking.
