We received a viewer email and wanted to address some of the questions. This time around it is about other options for wiring a reverse lockout and Synchrotech rebuild kits.

1) I watched the video and thought of an even easier way to potentially do this/make this work. I wanted your take on it - would it be possible to wire that RSX lockout solenoid to the brake light(s) or reverse light(s) in my converted Honda Elements? I think the ground cable(s) can be wired to basically anywhere on the chassis.

If this would work like I think it would, the mechanism would only engage/you would only be able to get into reverse, if you were on the brake. I don't see people on the brakes when they are intending on going into 6th gear (bottom right in the pattern), so this could be a cheap and good solution.

I also have 2 other questions:

2) What is your opinion on using Synchrotech parts? I've read conflicting things, ranging from, the parts are great, to, I'm a Honda mechanic and I've had nothing but problems with customers' transmissions, that have Synchrotech synchronizers/rebuild kits.


3) For a 2009-2010 Element, would this (MK-SYN117 (https://www.hptautosport.com/products... or https://sync-trans.com/products/mk-sy...) kit be the right one to use?
