Is This The "Cozy" Civilization? | Monarchs At Play (Turn-Based 4X Strategy Game - Playtest)

Описание: Monarchs at Play is a turn-based strategy game where we build a little civilization with the goal being to be far more glorious than the other ones! Glory to us!

The idea is that you can enjoy a full play of the game in a short time because it's stripped away a lot of the complex fiddly bits of a 4X strategy but still retains a lot of the more strategic elements.

On a lovely hex grid (yay for hexagons) we begin by placing our palace and then we have to get the basic economy in order. We only need to manage two primary resources; food and materials. We use these to build everything, from fishing boats to libraries to quarries to watchtowers.

We win the game by producing Glory, which is a resource produced by various cultural buildings but also gained by conquering opposing tiles! Combat is interesting too, using a system of military pressure exerted by buildings to capture enemy tiles rather than sending in troops directly.

So it might look like Civilization but it doesn't play like it. It's a really enjoyable take on the whole 4X strategy game and I think we'll be coming back for more with this one!
