The legislative special session at the state Capitol in Salem to pass a transportation funding bill got off to a rough start Friday when the House failed to reach the minimum required number of lawmakers.
It wasn't until late Friday evening that the Oregon House began the special session and passed its rules. Lawmakers convened on the floor for less than an hour and were quick to adjourn until Sunday at 4 p.m.
It happened after they pushed back their floor session into the evening after two lawmakers didn't show up, preventing the House from reaching a quorum.
