Dust and Ashes (Cover) - Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812

TLDR: I finally recorded this cover for my 40th birthday, focusing on the acting instead of singing technique. Hope you like it!

It's been a dream of mine to record myself singing this BEAST of a song, since I was introduced to the musical years ago. I've been resonating with especially as of late, with all the existential dread that comes with turning 40, and the current state of the world.

I have sung this song plenty of times with a good, "legit" technique, but that's not how the wind was blowing me that day. I had a lot of feelings to unpack and connect to on the day, and it came out less like Josh Groban in a big theater, more like Scott Stangland on film. But then, comparison in the thief of joy, etc. etc.

Ultimately, I'm proud to bring an idea into form, collaborate with some other amazing artists, and hopefully manifest a chance to perform in a production of this show in the future.
