Razing Cane
Texas Rivers and stream are under attack. The invasive Giant Reed threatens pretty much every river system in the state, but biologists are fighting back. We focus on the pristine Pedernales River and see what it takes to knock back this towering cane invader.
Texas Parks and Wildlife selects from among a variety of herbicides EPA-approved for aquatic use as needed to treat invasive plants to meet the overall goal for an area. Currently, this project uses primarily imazapyr only to seek to increase treatment effectiveness.
