Replacing the stock magnets in your P90 pickups is a very easy modification anyone can do. It's among the most significant mods you can perform to your guitar, and it's incredibly inexpensive to do so, making it probably the best bang-for-your-buck mod.
Magnet swapping a P90 can completely transform it to something new. Some pickup manufacturers even make identical pickups with different magnets as entirely different models! Swapping to weaker magnets can fill in the mids and add a vocal tone to the treble. Conversely, stronger magnets can scoop the mid range, tighten the bass end and sharpen the treble.
Having a selection of bar magnets and the know-how to swap magnets is an absolute necessity for any guitar tinkerer!
