Shadow, Sonic, Knuckles, Beemo, Bloo, Benson, Billy, Patrick, Mitch/Muscle Man, Winslow, Hamm, and Nibbles/Tuffy all appear at the royal ball dance to stop Alejandro from kissing Princess Bubblegum. And, as they attempt to do this they all fight Eris, and try to take the wand from her, and while they have a hard time with succeeding that, Sonic and Knuckles do a team up together that involves Sonic boosting Knuckles up to the wand, causing Knuckles to successfully catch the wand. But then, Alejandro kisses Princess Bubblegum, causing Shadow, Sonic, Knuckles, and company to be too late to stop the kiss, and causing Shadow to be sad. But then, Princess Bubblegum headbutts Alejandro, and knocks him out, causing Eris to find out that Frank didn't give Princess Bubblegum the potion that she told him to give her. Alejandro quickly gets up from being knocked out, takes the wand from Knuckles, and throws it back to Eris. While having the wand again, and while Shadow and Princess Bubblegum hug each other, Eris uses her wand to fire a blast at Shadow and Princess Bubblegum, and as the blast is coming for them, Shadow pushes Princess Bubblegum out of the way, attempting to sacrifice himself to save her, but then Frank sacrifices himself to save Shadow as he does that. As Frank does this sacrifice, the blast bounces off his armor, gets back to Eris, and hits her, and it seems like she's fine from that shot, but then a few seconds later, Eris dies by exploding in bubbles.
People at the royal ball are sad over Frank getting shot, and it might seem like he's dead, but then Frank crawls out of his armor, revealing that he's still alive, but he's now transformed into CatDog's frog father. As he is now transformed into CatDog's father, he apologizes to Shadow and Princess Bubblegum, and asks them to expect his apologies, and blessing, and Shadow and Princess Bubblegum seem pretty excepting towards that stuff. CatDog's father then jumps off his armor, but then Susan catches him, and tells him that he's more the man she deserves than he ever was, which makes CatDog's father happy.
