Biden’s Principal Deputy Natl. Security Adviser on US-Israel Strikes on Iran | Amanpour and Company

Описание: War is spreading across the Middle East as more countries are feeling the impact of the attack launched by the U.S. and Israel against Iran. Tehran is retaliating and warns it is ready for a "long war," launching attacks against neighbors with U.S. bases. Three U.S. fighter jets were shot down by Kuwait in an apparent friendly fire incident. U.S. Central Command says it is investigating and that all six air crew are in stable condition. In total, the U.S. military has confirmed the deaths of four American service members since the conflict began. Meanwhile the death toll in Iran is climbing. The Red Crescent says more than 500 people have been killed since the initial attacks over the weekend. According to Iran state media, more than 100 of the dead are school children killed in an Israeli strike on a girls' elementary school. Israel has refused all responsibility for the school strike. Jon Finer was Deputy National Security Adviser under President Biden. Finer joins the show to discuss whether there is a path to de-escalation.
