The Talk
Many mining project are first technically designed to meet financial criteria, with senior social and environmental staff later incorporated to obtain permits and convince stakeholders that the project is a good idea. Project delays are common, often due to technical redesigns, permitting delays, and social protests.
This presentation will focus on how front-end loading environmental and social performance in the scoping phase adds value to projects, enabling baseline information, permitting planning, and stakeholder input to improve project design, and create conditions for business certainty.
