The newly shared footage was taken by Jan Odendahl while he was walking along the chalk coast from Sassnitz to the Kieler Bach on the island of Rügen. Mr Odendahl approached the boar to record a video so he could show his children, but he got a shock when the animal ran towards him. Except for a few abrasions, a slightly sprained ankle and a hematoma on his back thigh, Mr Odendahl was unharmed.
