Hon. Chad W. Firetag (Ret.) brings extensive judicial and legal experience to JAMS, serving as an arbitrator, mediator, referee and neutral evaluator. With a decade on the Riverside County Superior Court bench—where he presided over complex civil, family and appellate matters—Judge Firetag is known for his balanced approach, deep legal knowledge and ability to resolve high-conflict disputes with professionalism and care.

As supervising civil judge from 2022 to 2025 and presiding judge of the Appellate Division, he led the administration of the court’s civil division and authored opinions in business and property-related disputes. Before his judicial career, he was an accomplished trial attorney, trying more than 35 cases to verdict, including a major white-collar fraud case lasting five months. Recognized for his leadership and integrity, Judge Firetag was named Judge of the Year by both CAOIE and ABOTA.
