Join me today as I hike the famous 'Mast Path' in the French Pyrenees mountains. This beautiful path was carved from rock to allow the transport of large trees from the mountains to the towns for use in the french navy. This path is part of the 1000km GR10 thru-hike which crosses the Pyrenees mountains from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean which I had the pleasure of completing in 2024.

This stunning virtual hike is not for those who are afraid of heights as the trail is cut into the rock 200m above the canyon floor without a rail or wall between you and a sheer drop. However don't let that stop you from enjoying this beautiful hiking trail from the comfort of YouTube!

The building you see at the start of the hike is Fort du Portalet which played an important role in some French history during World War II.

Sorry for the heavy breathing! This trail was all uphill!
