Some new additions to the synchro lineup this year definitely allow budget mermails to end on completely stronger boards. The most expensive card in this combo is Halqifibrax, and nothing else comes close, so if you want to properly build mermails this format, Halqifibrax is a must.
Abyss-scorn has an incredible effect but before it had depended on your opponent's interaction. Now we can get its second effect out way more consistently!
