Описание: Ready to slay? Written by and starring Michael James Daly, and directed by Michelle Iannantuono, FAME FATALE is a short comedy about a down on his luck gay actor pushed too far by Hollywood.

Mike has nearly reached his wit’s end with the film industry. After losing what would be his “big break,” he visits a horror convention to take his mind off 20 years of hardship. Little does he know, the convention isn’t exactly a safe space for aspiring actors either…and a couple snide comments from some filmmaker panelists might finally make him snap.

This story is based on a real experience Michael James Daly had at a horror convention in 2016, as well as real experiences through his young acting years. Most of the insults and comments his character hears throughout the film are real things he's been told throughout his career. We hope the audience connects with the struggle of someone who has been locked out of his dreams due to societal bigotries like homophobia and fatphobia, and regardless of those struggles, eventually finds friends and allies to make his dreams a reality.

The film stars an ensemble cast of Octopunk veterans including Marissa Rothfarb, Michael Whaley, Rune Vaughan, Russell Halvorson, Maddie Casto, Tierney Breedlove, and Kathleen O'Shaughnessy; introduces Braxton Williams, Wendell Scott, Michael David Anderson and Brooks Hawkins to the Octofam; and features Michael Smallwood playing himself!

We took home Best Actor and Best Comedy Short at Genreblast, Best Comedy at ConCarolinas Film Festival, and Best Homegrown Horror at Crimson Screen Film Festival. The film also screened at Horrorhound Cincinnati, Nightmares Film Festival, and New York City Horror Film Festival, among others.
