Yoko Sumi Gaeshi vs. Single Leg: this “flow sequence” is ACTUALLY MORE than just a counter to the single leg. It tracks our transition from seated guard to the standing position, then into a high-percentage single leg counter culminating in kimura control and submission on the ground (what more can you ask for?). We start with the basics of the heist as a method of level-changing and deal with a common response to it: the head inside single leg. Instead of just sprawling to a neutral position on the feet, we have a great opportunity to throw using yoko sumi gaeshi. Once on the ground, we take advantage of an extended arm so we can finish with kimura.
