▬ A new metro for Rennes ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Rennes became the first city in the world to install Siemens Mobility's new generation of automated metro Cityval,. The latest design offers higher frequency, maximized interior space and increased sustainability over the entire life cycle.

The Line b came into service in 2022. It features 25 trains with reduced headways of 67 seconds between trains at peak times, and an overall availability of 99.9%.

The Cityval was selected for its unrivaled availability and real-time scalability. What's more, the passengers of Rennes' Cityval benefit from real-time passenger information.

The Cityval is equipped with Siemens' best-in-class Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) system, which guarantees the highest level of safety through increased automation and constant monitoring of the network.

Building on 20 years of successful experience with the Line a, Rennes' first metro line, Rennes Metropole renewed their trust in Siemens Mobility with the new generation Cityval.
