Church or society shame you out of single hood and into a terrible marriage on his terms. Long distance relationships are hard enough, but super long distance plus a desperate to get married woman afraid of turning 40 single, plus codependency and pickme and cool girl tendencies is a coercive control relationship waiting to happen. Men will trap you in their country , the wilderness or wherever so it’s hard for you to leave them. Especially those older men looking for a hospice wife, a nurse or a purse (thanks ​⁠‪@originalkandicekellynews‬ for the hospice wife term). They exploit our insecurities, our desire to have a family or be coupled, our fear of aging and hitting some nonexistent wall. Men are the wall. Especially old ones! They are lonely and desperate so they trick us into marrying them and then we can’t leave if we don’t have community and support and enough self esteem. Don’t fall for it. These dusty king baby gold diggers are everywhere. How is this man this old and has never dated seriously? Red flag! He’s prob on the narcissist spectrum , the benevolent kind. Or at the very least, had too much healing to do from his dysfunctional family and daddy issues and grief. Maybe he’s a “nice guy” or maybe he’s genuinely kind but the risk and sacrifice she is making for this man she barely knows is too much. Don’t move for a man, especially that far and especially not one you barely know. It’s a setup for dv , financial abuse , baby trapped, whatever!

Be ok with 4B or not ever finding someone, and from that place you can make better choices . You don’t have to give up entirely but stop trying to SO hard to make something work that you are blinded by the red flags.
