STORYLINE:
Taiwan’s stock market surged and rallied at open Monday morning, the first trading day after the Lunar New Year holidays.

TAIEX index surged to 33,909 points from 33,610 points at opening and rallied to 34,212 points in the early trading hours.

TSMC, a weighted stock in Taiwan’s market opened at 1,915 points and smoothly rose to 1,935 points in the early trading hours.
