This can be applied to earlier EV vehicles that were built before there was a DC Fast Charging Network available to the public.
I would also like to add this to many of the newer plug-in hybrid EV's. These newer plug-in vehicles have about 50 mi of range before they switch over to running on gasoline.
If you had ability to DC fast charge there are currently are many DC fast charges and there will be a lot more DC fast chargers installed in the future.
Meaning if you're running around town and start running low on battery you could just hit a DC fast charger. You will save money on fuel and oil changes.
I think if you have a plug-in hybrid and were going on a long trip you would probably just start running on gas as soon as your battery got low. It wouldn't be worth it to stop and charge every 50 miles on the interstate.
Another scenario is if your job was less than 100 miles round trip from your home, somewhere near your halfway point you could stop and DC fast charge.
