Over 6 Hours of Kenny Bräck Highlights in CART 2000-01 w/ Team Rahal

Описание: Kenny Bräck originally made his name at the beginning of the American Open Wheel Split with the oval-only Indy Racing League. After winning an Indianapolis 500 and IRL Championship with AJ Foyt Racing, Bräck signed with Team Rahal in the CART Series ahead of the 2000 season, replacing the outgoing Bryan Herta

Bräck took a little bit to gain his footing, but once he and the team got on the same page, it was very apparent that he could contend for wins and the championship

The 2001 season was an indictment for just how good Bräck could be in CART. He was consistently running towards the front, qualifying well, and competing for wins. His ability to hustle the car on the ovals was incredible

The 2001 season did not end with a championship, and it led to a lot of 'what-if moments'. The two primary points of inquiry in that season have to do with contact with his teammate Max Papis. The two took both retired after contact with each other at Michigan and Mid-Ohio. Had Bräck been able to collect solid points at those races, he may have been able to take the crown at the end of the season

During the 01 Road America season, it was announced that Bräck would join Target Chip Ganassi Racing for the 2002 CART Season. It was rumored that part of the interest in joining the dominant CART team was that his salary would be doubled

His time at Ganassi was nothing short of a failure. Ganassi left CART for the IRL after 2002, and Bräck looked for a new venture. He rejoined Team Rahal in 2003 in the IRL, where he did not factor into the championship or many races as a whole. The season ended with a horrifying crash for Bräck at Texas, where he suffered one of the highest rated G force crashes in human history (where a person survived)

His seat at Team Rahal was given to Buddy Rice, who would go on to win the 2004 Indianapolis 500. Bräck would miss all of 2004, and he would start 2005 on the sidelines. He would replace Rice for the 2005 Indianapolis 500 due to injury and would have qualify with the fastest speed in the field (although since it wasn't during the first qualifying sessions, he did not start on the pole)

Bräck's race would end with a mechanical failure, and that would be the end of his IndyCar career. His 2000-01 seasons were an embodiment of what Bräck could do if the circumstances were right, and if he was dialed in to what he was doing
