EGW Ambi Thumb Safety Install and Removal

Описание: In this episode, Al goes over how to remove and reinstall an EGW Sleeved Ambi Thumb Safety. Always make sure your firearm is unloaded before performing any cleaning or maintenance.

To install or remove our ambi thumb safety, you will need to remove the slide.

We recommend using the provided 10-8 Performance Armorer's Tool to help remove and install the safety so as to not mar your frame. The ambi should be moved to the middle position to start the removal process. Place the 10-8 tool under the left side arm of the safety and with a rolling motion, push the safety up. When the safety starts to come apart, you can move the 10-8 tool to under the rear portion of the safety or under the bottom and continue the rolling/prying motion. At this point you should be able to start pulling on the thumb safety lever and it should come apart shortly.

Installation is just as straightforward, just in reverse. Line up the extension from the hammer pin in the groove on the back side of the right side of the ambi. Once this is done, you will need to move the ambi to a middle position between the safety being on and off. Line up the left side of the safety (make sure the sleeve was one one of the pins before installation) with the right side. You can use your 10-8 tool to depress the safety plunger while pressing both sides of the safety together. Once both sides of the safety are in place, you are good to go!
