📌 Ingredients :
Toor Dal- 1/2 cup
Yellow Moong Dal- 1/2 cup
Palak/spinach- 1/2 bunch
Oil- 1 tsp
Onion- 1 medium sized finely chopped
Tomato- 1 medium sized finely chopped
Ginger green chilli paste- 1/2 tsp
Bay leaf- 1
Cinnamon stick- 1 inch
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Dhaniya powder- 1/2 tsp
Salt- to taste
For Tadka:
Ghee- 1 tbsp
Garlic- 3-4 cloves- minced
Hing- 1/4 tsp
Jeera- 1 tsp
Kashmiri red chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
📌 Method :
1. Boil toor dal and moong dal in a pressure cooker until soft and mushy
2. Finely chop spinach leaves and keep aside
3. In a kadai, add oil, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, onions, ginger green chilli paste, tomatoes and cook till they become soft
4. Add spinach and cover and cook until quantity of spinach has reduced half in size
5. Add turmeric powder, dhaniya powder and salt to taste followed by some water and mix well
6. Add the boiled dal and mix well and add water to adjust the consistency if required
7. For the tadka, add ghee in a tadka pan, followed by jeera, garlic, hing and red chilli powder and once it turns aromatic, pour the tadka over the dal
8. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander and serve hot with piping rice or roti
