History is about preserving the past. That was one of the big takeaways Camilla Sandoval '17, M.A. '19, History, appreciated from her time as an undergraduate studying History at UMBC at Shady Grove.
"One point I would make about history in general is that it's not just about reading books. It's also not just writing books, articles or papers. There are a lot of intersection points between history and social justice and equity. If we can explore those intersection points then I think that's where we find the biggest reward and deepest meaning to history work."
