If you don't have an adequate cooler, you should undervolt your CPU as this is the correct way o cool your PC. In this video, I will take you through the necessary steps to configure a CPU Undervolt.
The purpose of setting a TDP Limit and undervolting your CPU allows you to set the maximum amount of power your CPU can draw. This directly reflects on the amount of heat your CPU is producing in your system.
Doing this can dramatically improve your system's performance as it will stop your CPU from thermal throttling which is the result of laggy games, drops in your FPS and slow-performing software for hobbyists and professionals alike.
If your PC is running very hot and it is crashing as a result, setting a tdp limit is also the solution to this problem.

Combine this with a properly configured Fan profile and you will have great results.
