The German physicist Burkhard Heim (1925-2001) concluded that space is quantized, and all physical fields can be expressed through that geometry. Mass is no more the cause of gravity, and therefore space-time geometry in the microcosmos can be described in analogy to the formalism of general relativity for the macrocosmos. This leads to operator equations which resemble the Schrödinger equations from quantum mechanics.
