After a two-day lull in fighting, Rwandan backed M23 rebels have resumed their attacks on Congolese government forces in the Southern Kivu province. The fighting comes despite calls from 24 regional leaders for an immediate ceasefire. The rebels are now pushing towards the southern city of Bukavu leaving thousands of casualties and hundreds of thousands of displaced people.
