LXD is the newest standard for OS containers. QNAP Container Station has always supported both LXC and Docker containers. Beginning in about June of 2021, QNAP is adding LXD support to Container Station.
The problem is that they are planning to obsolete the use of LXC containers by the end of 2021. This video covers how to use the new LXD containers and explains their differences.
