This is our variety of Physalis Peruviana. It often grows in cultivated lands growing together with weeds and crops. Sometimes, you can harvest it first than your crops. It is plenty in our surroundings here. Also, it is one of my favorite wild plants. The color varies depending on its maturity. From green to yellowish or orange when it's ripe - having a sweet taste.
Binomial name: Physalis Peruviana
Common name: Cape Gooseberry, Golden Berry, Ground Cherry
Hawaii: Poha
Egypt: Harankash
Peru: Aguaymanto
Colombia: Uchuva
China: Deng Long Guo (lantern fruit)
French: Amour En Cage (love in a cage)
Philippines: Wild Physalis, Tino-tino, Lubi-lubi, Lobolobohan, Lopok-lopok
Other names: Pantu-pantugan, Laptukay, Gold Berry, Inca Berry, Ground Berry
Sometimes, every name includes different varieties. May differ in color of its fruits and form of their leaves but both are having cape.
