inspired by " The Rocky Road to Dublin" song.
This is an original song I wrote called "Dusty Road to Kuwait City."
Inspired by the classic Irish folk song "The Rocky Road to Dublin," this is a modern Kuwaiti version of a traveler's tale. It tells the story of a young man's journey from the farms of Wafra to find work in the big city, and all the adventures and troubles he finds along the way.
I wrote the lyrics, and the music was brought to life by AI.

[Title: Dusty Road to Kuwait City]
[Verse 1]
In the dusty month of June, from Wafra I departed
Left the farming crews, nearly brokenhearted
Waved to Father dear, hugged my loving mother
Drank some laban cool, me heat and dust to smother
Then off to find some work, leave where I was born
Grabbed my ghutra white, to shade me from the morn
Bought some sturdy shoes, for trekking o'er the sands
Startling the stray dogs on the dusty road to Kuwait Town!
[Chorus]
One, two, three, four, five
Find the shade and settle, down the dusty road
And all the ways to Kuwait Town
Yalla, Habibi, hey!
[Verse 2]
In Ahmadi that night, I rested limbs so weary
Started before light, next morning bright and cheery
Took a sip of gahwa, keep my heart from sinking
That's a Kuwaiti cure, whenever we are thinking!
Saw the ladies smile, covered all the while
At my dusty style, set your heart a-bubblin'
Asked me for my trade, wages to be paid
Till I was almost frayed, on the dusty road to Kuwait Town!
[Chorus]
One, two, three, four, five
Find the shade and settle, down the dusty road
And all the ways to Kuwait Town
Yalla, Habibi, hey!
[Verse 3]
In Kuwait City arrived, I thought it such a pity
So much heat survived, a view of that grand city!
Then I took a stroll, all among the quality
My phone it got stole, in a busy locality!
Something crossed my mind, then I looked behind
No phone could I find, felt my knees a-wobblin'
Enquiring for the thief, they heard my desert speech
Said it wasn't chic, on the dusty road to Kuwait Town!
[Chorus]
One, two, three, four, five
Find the shade and settle, down the dusty road
And all the ways to Kuwait Town
Yalla, Habibi, hey!
[Verse 4]
From there I got away, my spirits never failing
Landed by the bay, just as a dhow was sailing
The Nakhoda he roared, said "No room here, ya welid!"
Then I jumped aboard, a spot found quick instead!
Down among the nets, played some funny sets
Dodged the water jets, the waves around me bubbling
When off Failaka Isle, I wished after a while
I’d walked another mile, on the dusty road to Kuwait Town!
[Chorus]
One, two, three, four, five
Find the shade and settle, down the dusty road
And all the ways to Kuwait Town
Yalla, Habibi, hey!
[Verse 5]
The lads in Salmiya, when I safely landed
Called me moya moya, couldn't stand it!
Blood began to boil, temper I was losing
Dear old Kuwait's soil, they started misusing!
"Ya Allah!" says I, let my anger fly!
Some Jahra boys were by, saw I was a-stumble in!
Then with loud "Yalla!", they joined in the fracas
We quickly cleared the path, from the dusty road to Kuwait Town!
[Chorus]
One, two, three, four, five
Find the shade and settle, down the dusty road
And all the ways to Kuwait Town
Yalla, Habibi, hey!
...
[Chorus]
One, two, three, four, five
Find the shade and settle, down the dusty road
And all the ways to Kuwait Town
Yalla, Habibi, hey!
