Garage rock seems to take this year by storm as the decade starts to come to a close, but there is always a spot for soft rock, even if it seems to come from only one band (Gary Puckett). A notable thing to mention is that Big Brother holding Company, Steppenwolf, Cream, Vanilla Fudge and Blue Cheer only appear on this Year-End whilst appearing on several "greatest of hard rock bands"-like lists, with the latter two influencing many later metal and punk bands. Also good to see the future queen of soul Aretha Franklin on a roll.
Several clips with Simon & Garfunkel music playing are from the 1967 movie "The Graduate", a film which a substantial number of Simon & Garfunkel's biggest hits are tied to.
Highlights:
5:53- The 1960s equivalent to a screamer.
