Описание: How did people think about time when moving pictures were invented? How did that thinking affect the development of cinema? And how do our cultural concepts related to time affect the ways we think about movies today? This talk traces the history of cinema, from the end of the 1800s to our modern era of digital streaming. It shows how films manipulate our perception of time. And it discusses modern controversies in light of this history. Peter Hildebrand wants all people to be able to make and enjoy art. He is involved with multiple direct action and mutual aid projects designed to support the most vulnerable members of the community. Professionally, he has a master’s degree in neuroscience and a doctorate degree in clinical psychology. He works as a clinical neuropsychologist. When not volunteering or working, Peter constructs crossword puzzles, eats baked goods, and watches movies. He recently completed production on the short film The Dogsitter. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
