In my previous TRAI May 2026 telecom report analysis, I showed that Vodafone Idea lost both wireless subscribers net of M2M and VLR active subscribers. A viewer asked an important question: how can we be sure that Vi’s VLR loss is not because of M2M?
This video answers that question using HLR vs VLR concepts, M2M behaviour, Bharti Airtel’s Dec 2025 M2M integration as a natural test case, and Vi’s Jul 2025 to May 2026 data.
The key conclusion: TRAI does not publish M2M-wise VLR breakup, so this cannot be proved directly. But the indirect evidence strongly suggests that Vi’s VLR loss is likely real commercial subscriber weakness, not M2M loss.
