This is part one of the two part video tutorial about arithmetic sequence problems.
To find the missing arithmetic sequence terms we have to use the formula an = a1 + (n-1)d. The n is the number of term, so for example you need to find the 20th term, n is 20. For 10th term n is 10 and so on.
The d on the formula is the common difference where you subtract two consecutive terms. And the a1 is the value of the first term.
Supposing there is a problem that no consecutive terms are given and there is also no first term, all you have to do is subtract the equations of two given terms.
You will then find the value of d. Once you find d, use again any of the two equations to find for a1.
If you have the value for a1, you may now find the other terms easily.
