I stayed in a real 1960s Canadian railroad caboose — converted into a fully
renovated short-term rental and tucked into a rhododendron forest in Agassiz, BC. Here's what it's actually like inside.
The Lu Zhu Caboose is part of Lu Zhu Gardens — a historic property in the
Fraser Valley about 90 minutes east of Vancouver. The caboose was craned onto the property back in 1993 and has since been fully converted with a modern kitchenette, a spa-style double shower bathroom, a master bedroom, and a loft sleeping area up in the original cupola. The property also has miles of private hiking trails, waterfalls, creek crossings, and views of the Fraser River.
