A ripple effect from the ongoing strike on Iran is felt from Wall Street to Main Street amid the largest single-day jump in gas prices since Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana in 2005. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped by as much as 1,200 points when trading opened Tuesday morning. While it has since stabilized some, it's was down by the 4 p.m. hour. The conflict is also fueling a sharp spike in gas prices in Maryland — more than 6,000 miles from the Middle East.
