In this video we will explore the synthesis of Acetylacetone through a mixed Claisen condensation, we will also prepare a sodium dispersion in xylenes and prepare some sodium ethoxide slurry to perform the Claisen condensation. Please refrain from recreate this procedure unless you have the proper training in the laboratory.
