When you think back to your last museum visit, do you see yourself touching things, trying them out, discussing with other people, listening, talking and learning? Probably your museum experience so far has been rather receptive, less interactive and without much talking.
Yannick Hofmann, media artist at the ZKM (Center for art and media Karlsruhe) strives to revolutionize the museum and make it a place of experience and experimentation, a social space where art, science, technology and public discourse come together. In his talk, Hofmann speaks about the background, his visions, digital art and the important role that AI plays in it.
Yannick Hofmann, media artist and deputy director of the Hertz-Lab at ZKM, is looking for the intelligent museum. The 4-year project experiments with different approaches and forms of expression of digital art at the interface of technology, science and society. The aim is to offer a level of reflection for the general public in the form of interactive and experiential presentations through the artistic examination of AI topics, thereby opening up new ways of museum communication and mediation.
