I finally made it out on a backpacking trip to Glen Aulin in Yosemite National Park—and wow, this trail did not disappoint. From Tuolumne Meadows to waterfalls like Tuolumne Falls and White Cascade, this backpacking adventure felt like two trails in one: peaceful meadows and rivers at the start, then dramatic granite canyons and rushing waterfalls at the end.
I’ll take you along as I share the highs and lows of this Yosemite trip—like forgetting my hiking shoes (oops 😅), detouring to Mammoth Lakes, and then finally stepping onto the trail with a fresh perspective. Along the way, I’ll show the best views, the vibe at Glen Aulin High Sierra Camp, swimming in the icy Tuolumne River, and a few backpacking tips that made the trip more enjoyable.
Whether you’re planning your own Yosemite backpacking trip, looking for hiking tips, or just love the mix of camping, waterfalls, and epic views, this trail has it all. Glen Aulin truly is one of Yosemite’s hidden gems—less crowded than Yosemite Valley, but just as stunning.
So grab your hiking backpack, lace up (don’t forget your shoes 😉), and come with me into Yosemite’s high country for an unforgettable adventure.
